Hon. Gift Simuunza Sialubalo is currently serving as Minister in the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development. He is a seasoned entrepreneur, public servant, and legislator with extensive experience in business, governance, and community development. Born on August 25, 1969, in Syabswi Village under the Senior Chief Mweemba Chiefdom, he pursued his early education at Kanchindu Primary School (1981-1987) and later attended Maamba Secondary School (1988-1992). He holds multiple diplomas in Business Economics & Commerce, Accounting, and Business Bookkeeping. Additionally, he has a Certificate in Financial Literacy & Business Planning and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Entrepreneurship Studies and Project Management. His career began in public service as a Revenue Collector at the Ministry of Transport & Logistics (1993-1998), later rising to the position of Senior Licensing Officer under the Road Transport and Safety Agency (1999-2008). In 2003, he founded Zima Transport and General Supply Limited, where he continues to serve as Chief Executive Officer, overseeing business development and expansion. In August 2016, he was elected Member of Parliament for Sinazongwe Constituency under the National Assembly of Zambia. Throughout his tenure, he has been an active participant in legislative affairs, serving on various committees, including the Transport, Works & Supply Committee, the National Economy, Trade & Labour Matters Committee, and the Local Governance, Chiefs & Traditional Affairs Committee. He is also a member of the African Parliamentary Union, the People Living with Disabilities Body, and the Gender Body. Hon. Sialubalo has a strong presence in community development, having served as Treasurer and Vice President of Nchanga Rangers Football Club. Currently, he is the Patron of Ukwangala Cycling & Fitness Club, promoting sports and wellness initiatives. With a career spanning public administration, business leadership, and legislative governance, Hon. Gift Simuunza Sialubalo continues to be a key figure in Zambia’s economic and social development.
