Nancy Muchindu Simango Mwamba – Director of Finance

Nancy Muchindu Simango Mwamba is a Chartered Accountant with over Twenty-five years post qualification experience. Nancy has vast experience in the civil service. She has worked for 32 years in various Line Ministries under the Government of the Republic of Zambia, which include Energy and Water Development, Finance and National Planning, Cabinet Office, Home Affairs (Internal Affairs), Health and Local Government and Rural Development where she is currently. She has served at senior management level for over Twenty- three years. Having worked in the Ministry of Local Government Rural Development for over Eight years as the head of Finance, she has vast experience and understanding of Local Government Administration and Financial Management for Local Authorities. As a Public Financial Management practitioner her core components of experience include the management and maintenance of books of accounts, preparation of periodic financial and management accounting reports, monitoring government project funds, coordinating the collections and banking of Government revenue, co-ordinating the procurement ,storage and distribution of accountable documents , preparing of budgets and cash flow forecasts , development and implementation of Financial management policies, procedures and systems, facilitating the audit process and implementing recommendations from auditors, human resource management with regard to staff appraisal ,staff training development and placement, and analysing financial reports. She has acquired hands-on experience in the use of the computer, especially in Microsoft applications like Word and Excel. She is also a SAP certified consultant and participated in the configuration and customisation of IFMIS for the Central Government. She has exceptionally developed financial analytical skills with an eye for detail, and a high degree of personal organisation and deadline management. She also has exceptional leadership qualities, strong interpersonal skills and able to discern potential problem areas. She served as a board member at the Rural Electrification Authority, chairing the Finance and Human Resources Committee from 2022 to 2023. She also sat on the Road Development Agency Board and chaired the Human Resources Committee in 2021. She served as a committee member of the Finance Committee under Health Professions Council of Zambia for 3 years from 2016 to 2018.
