Lusaka- The Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) today 22nd April, 2025 paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Hon. Gift Sialubalo, at his office in Lusaka.
The delegation was led by Commission Chairperson Mr. Ackson Sejani, who was accompanied by Commissioners from the LGSC. The meeting focused on enhancing collaboration between the Ministry and the Commission to improve service delivery and governance in Local Authorities across the country.
Hon. Sialubalo commended the Commission for its ongoing efforts in strengthening human resource management in councils, noting that the Ministry relies heavily on the Commission to ensure professionalism and merit-based appointments.
“We must work together to build a public service that is responsive, accountable, and capable of delivering on the developmental agenda, especially with the increased responsibilities under the Constituency Development Fund,” Hon. Sialubalo said.
Mr. Sejani reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to supporting the Ministry’s mandate.
The meeting also touched on the need for continuous orientation and support for council staff to ensure equitable development across all regions.
Also present at the meeting were senior officials from both the Ministry and the Local Government Service Commission.
