The Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Honourable Gary Nkombo, MP, has today, Friday, 9th August, 2024, launched the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) Communication Strategy, and the Branding Guidelines as well as the CDF Information Dashboard, at Mulungushi International Conference Centre, Kenneth Kaunda Wing in Lusaka.
The Communication Strategy is an important tool for enhancing communication channels and facilitating the dissemination of information on the management and implementation of the CDF to all stakeholders.
In this regard, the CDF Communication Strategy;
· Enhances stakeholders’ access to CDF information for stakeholders across the CDF value chain.
· Empowers stakeholders to take ownership, responsibility, accountability and promote coordination of local development.
· Promotes community participation, which will ensure effective utilization of the Fund, thereby contributing to sustainable local development.
· Guides the communication of tangible results and outcomes of the CDF, illustrating the positive impact on community development.
· Facilitates the branding of CDF projects. To this effect, branding guidelines have been developed.
By defining a structured approach to disseminating information, this Strategy ensures that all community members are aware of the opportunities and processes associated with the CDF by ensuring transparency.
This empowers Citizens to actively engage in identifying local needs, proposing projects, and participating in decision-making, thus enhancing the relevance and impact of the Fund. Moreover, the strategy provides mechanisms for strengthening collaboration with stakeholders, including local leaders, civil society organisations, and development partners, by establishing clear channels for feedback.
The Government has prioritized building trust, and encourages active involvement of Citizens to ensure that the benefits of the CDF are maximized through informed and engaged communities.
The CDF Communication Strategy has been launched alongside the CDF Branding Guidelines in order to ensure a unified and consistent brand presentation of the CDF across all communities.
On the other hand, the CDF Information Dashboard will provide information to enhance multi-level transparency and decision-making across the CDF value chain.
By defining a structured approach to disseminating information, the CDF Communication Strategy will ensure that all community members are aware of the opportunities and processes associated with the CDF by ensuring transparency.
