The commissioning of earthmoving equipment by Hon Nkombo, procured by Mufulira Municipal Council using the 2022 Constituency Development Funds (CDF). The equipment procured includes; a Bulldozer, Grader, Cherry picker, Refuse Compactor, Water bowser, Skip loader, Skip bins, Road cutter and two tractors.
In his keynote address, the Minister stressed that the procurement of the equipment is another success story to celebrate due to the prudent utilization of the CDF. The Minister also stressed that among the objectives of the CDF is to empower local communities by taking part in the decision-making process through improved local governance with the decisions leading to reduced poverty and an improvement in service delivery.
The Minister implored the Local Authority to use the earthmoving equipment effectively such as rehabilitating all major township roads in Mufulira District that are in a deplorable condition.
The decision by the people through Mufulira Municipal Council to procure the earthmoving equipment is a clear indication that the District is moving in unison with the New Dawn Government’s vision of attaining a robust socio-economic transformation for improved livelihoods.
