The Association for Public Administration in Zambia (APAZ), led by its President, Sikawala Musonda, paid a courtesy call on the Permanent Secretary (Administration) at the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, Dr. Gabriel Pollen.
The engagement provided an opportunity for APAZ to brief the Permanent Secretary on its upcoming conference scheduled to be held in June this year.
Mr. Musonda outlined several areas of potential partnership between the Association for Public Administration in Zambia and the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, both in the lead-up to and beyond the upcoming conference, with the aim of enhancing the public administration landscape in Zambia.
He further highlighted the need for collaboration with the Ministry on training and capacity building initiatives, with a particular focus on curriculum development for public administration programmes.
In response, Dr. Pollen welcomed the participation of local authorities at the forthcoming APAZ conference, stating that the event will provide an opportunity for local authorities to showcase government programmes.
He reaffirmed the Ministryโs commitment to support and collaborate in strengthening public service administration, particularly at the local level.
