The Republican President, Mr Hakainde Hichilema, has implored traditional leaders to continue working with the Government in promoting traditional cultural ceremonies as a platform for strengthening peace and unity in the Country.
The Head of State stated that the Government’s desure is to see that the traditional leadership is always placed on the value of unity in diversity, as reflected in the National Motto ‘One Zambia, One Nation’.
President Hichilema said this in a speech read on his behalf by the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Honourable Gift Sialubalo, MP.
This was during this year’s 40th Lunda Lubanza Traditional Ceremony in Zambezi District, North-Western Province, on Sunday, celebrated under the theme “Unity of the Lunda Ndembu: In Congo, Angola and Zambia is our strength”.
The theme resonated far beyond culture, as it spoke to regional cooperation, across-border integration, and strength of community ties.
