The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development has expressed deep concern over the rising number of fire and fire-related incidents recorded across the country, calling on the public to enhance vigilance and prioritise fire safety measures to prevent loss of life and property.

Between August and mid-October 2025, over 300 fire incidents were recorded nationwide. These incidents affected residential homes, commercial premises, motor vehicles, and community spaces, resulting in significant property damage worth about K20,000,000.
